Characteristic:
Motherwort grass contains alkaloids leonurin and leonuridine, amine stachidrine, flavonoids (quinqueloside, rutin, quercetin and others), saponins, tannins, essential oil, organic acids (malic, tartaric, citric, ursolic, vanillic, p-turmeric), bitter substances and sugary, vitamins (A, E, C), mineral salts (potassium, calcium, sodium, sulfur).
Useful properties of motherwort grass:
Motherwort herb stabilizes the heart rate and strengthens the myocardium, has antispasmodic and anticonvulsant effects, lowers blood pressure, blood cholesterol, glucose, pyruvic and lactic acids, stabilizes protein metabolism and removes excess fats. In addition, motherwort enhances myocardial contraction in tachycardia, coronary heart disease, myocarditis, cardiosclerosis and angina, heart failure.
Motherwort is effective for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, especially for stomach cramps and catarrh of the large intestine. In gastroenterology, the plant is used for stomach cramps, flatulence, intestinal neuroses. It has diuretic, anti-inflammatory and expectorant properties.
